At Langdon Academy we believe that all children deserve the best experiences and learning opportunities that are available. EPIC stands for Engagement, Pace, Independence and Challenge. These points are considered and included in all of our lessons because a combination of these factors will ensure that lessons are taught to an excellent standard, meet all children’s needs and therefore improve their attainment.
We encourage taking learning outside, having heavily practical lessons and using physical resources to support learning. To evidence this outstanding learning, each class has an EPIC book in which they record (through a huge variety of ways) the children’s work.
Our shift to ‘EPIC’ teaching links directly with our investment in new resources, running internal workshops for children and venturing off site for external enrichment.
Please find below examples of the learning that has been captured in EPIC books. These will be available to have a closer look at during open school events.
