What is the aim of the course? 

The aim of the course is to provide an insight into the world in the twentieth century which is particularly helpful in understanding current conflicts.Students will also conduct a local history study as well as a thematic study over a longer period of time. Students will develop transferable skills and be able to: use information effectively; be analytical and critical; become independent thinkers and learn how to evaluate information.

 What will you study in this subject? 

1) One Thematic Study – for example:The People’s Health 1250 to present 2)Two Depth Studies for example:Britain in Peace and War, 1900 – 1918Living Under Nazi Rule, 1933 – 1945 3) A Local Study on History Around Us 

How is your work assessed? 

Three exam papers make up 100% Thematic Study and British Depth Study 40%History Around Us 20%Period Study and World Depth Study 40%
